Keegan Douglas

So this handsome little cowboy just so happens to be one of my favorite little guys in the world. He belongs to my good friend Ashley and her husband Kyle. I took these in June at the 4H horse show in town. Ashley was busy with her lesson kids (and I mean busy) and I just kind of followed Keegan around with the camera. He and his Uncle Landice both had on their shorts and cowboy boots. The cup he has stuck to his mouth...is no MORE!. He has been weaned from his "sippy", so these pics are nice reminders of that faithful cup he loved so much. He is 3 and never stops amazing us with his phrases and pronunciation of his words. He can also tell you just about where everyone he knows lives! It's a good day when I see little Keegan and to hear him call me Ashes, as he does everytime...well it makes my heart smile. I love you Keegs!

Look closely at the picture of Allie on her daddys shoulders she's givn him a little present.

Vegas (continued)

My friend told me I should put this pic of Vegas and I on here. Even though it is a cell phone picture, and you can't see her big head very well, my friend loves it and everytime I call her it pops up. Vegas loved to ride on anything at anytime, especially if I could make room for her right beside me. It was a real chore to get all 160 pounds of her in the back of my truck. My dad made me my own special trailer that tilts. She got to ride in this twice but loved every minute of it.

Vegas 2001-2009

So my most dredded day came yesterday when I realized Vegas would not get up and come to me. She just lay in the yard staring at me with those big beautiful brown eyes. I knew right then I had to call the vet. Luckily a very dear woman that works there squeezed us into their already packed schedule. Since she couldn't walk.. my dad, Steve, and I had to put a sheet under her and pick her up that way. I rode with her over there, and I knew what was coming so I just talked to her. Let her know that she helped me through so many hard times in life, and that I loved her so much. At that point I realized that here I had just gotten through June and the 1 year anniversary of my cousin's death, and now July will be tough to get through as well. When Doug told me she'd never walk again...my heart sank to my stomach. I had to make that call and say goodbye. When we pulled into the farm I started looking around and realizing the place would never be the same. My male is just as distraught as me. He tried to get in with her when we burried her and to this second thats where he is laying. It's going to be hard to get through this because everywhere I look im reminded of her. Even tonight when I go to my mom and dads for supper I will look at the huge claw marks on her wood kitchen floor from when she was a puppy, and would come flying down from my bed to go potty and hit that wood floor and go flying into the dishwasher. I will smile. I might cry. But I will definately miss her. Thanks for listening and some of the pics above are from my cell phone but they are some of my favorites and I'd like to share them with you. Please keep me in your prayers I need them.

Toy Time!!

Ok so I walked into the living room and as I look around I notice something out of place..or I should say in place where I never had noticed b4. It was a pugs bottom sticking out from underneath a decorative ladder in my family room. So I grabbed my camera and went to investigate. She was trying to get her toy basketball which was stuck..lol so I got it for her and boy you would have thought a gave her a big bone. She gave it a good 15 minutes showing off then went to her bed in complete exhaustion. All in a nights work :)

Sleepy Boy

Reno was sitting under the tree today with his eyes almost closed and that gigantic tongue out..I couldn't help myself.

Brittany

I took this picture of Brittany's feet on her mom's stepping stone at the nature center in Rushville. Brittany's mother is a Kindergarten teacher and every year her class makes a stepping stone with Mr. Kuhn the science teacher. This was the one her class made this year. We love this picture!!

Pepper Dog

This is Pepper our black lab/retriever mix. She is 10 going on 3. She does not show her age for a second. She is a good dog who has to follow us around the farm because she might miss out on something if she doesn't. Our niece calls her Pepperoni..She loves carrying things around in her mouth (especially rocks) and eventually she will leave us something on the steps, unfortunately it's usually something dead :( We love her very much though.

Steve and Mojo

Steve has a herniated disc in his back which has had him in pain for the last 3 weeks. He finds it most comfortable to lay on the floor with a pillow. He has come to realize though, that when he is on the floor he is in pug territory and little Mojo likes pillows and loves Steve even more. I had to post this. Let's not tell him though ;)

Otis

So I'm slowly getting all five dogs on here. This is Otis he is our male pug. He is brindle, which you don't see a lot of. He is a very laid back little guy. As you can see in the pics he likes laying in the sun that comes through the windows in my office. He looked so angelic that I couldn't resist!

Vegas and Reno

So today I took my female Mastiff, Vegas,(she's the brindle) to the vet. She is 8 and had been having trouble getting up. The vet ordered an xray which unfortunately showed us the arthritis she has on her spine, hips, and back knees. He prescribed some meds and said we would see what they do for her as far her quality of life goes. But in a very nice way he said he thought this would be my last Summer with her. I am crushed. I love Mastiffs. Vegas was my first. Steve baught her for me right out of high school. She was the last of the litter and when I saw her it was as if she'd been waiting for me to come get her. She is a big part of this family and I'm going to pray for a MIRACLE and hope that she may have many more years with us, but I know in the end I won't watch her suffer. My male Reno (the handsome fawn colored dog shown here) follows her every move watching over her almost as good as I do. I guess I should have expected this eventually because when your dogs weigh 150 and 180 pounds you can imagine there would be some damage in their older years. So I'm posting some pictures of her and Reno today..I guess you could say it makes me feel better :)

Sadie's Senior Picture's

I wanted to put some of Sadie's normal picture's on here because they are kind of special to me. So many years ago when I was yelling at Sadie to get out of my room, I would never have imagined I'd be taking these picture's for her. Some were taken throughout Cade's Cove in Tennesse. We made some special memories on that trip.
